Sharon Duggal

Sharon Duggal is a novelist and short-story writer from inner-city Birmingham. She holds an MPhil in Creative Writing from the University of Sussex and teaches creative writing workshops and courses. She is also involved in radio through The Ruben and Sharon Show on Radio Reverb and works as a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the University of Brighton.

Her debut novel The Handsworth Times was published by Bluemoose Books in 2016, and her second novel Should We Fall Behind in 2020. Should We Fall Behind was shortlisted for the Royal Society of Literature’s 2021 Encore Award, selected for BBC’s Between the Covers, and chosen as a Prima Magazine Book of the Year.
