Paul Scraton
Paul Scraton is a British writer and editor based in Berlin. His work explores themes of place, memory, migration, and identity, drawing from his own experiences living between cultures. He is editor-in-chief of Elsewhere: A Journal of Place and the author of Ghosts on the Shore, Built on Sand, and In the Pines.
His latest novel, A Dream of White Horses (2024), tells the story of Ben’s journey from London to a German island to visit his dying friend, Pascal. Through voice notes linked to photographs, the novel unfolds a moving tale of friendship, exile, and the search for home.
Paul’s writing is celebrated for its emotional depth, lyrical prose, and thoughtful engagement with contemporary issues of belonging.
